Thousands of Nintendo fans waited overnight at Best Buy stores to purchase 'The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time', a highly anticipated remake of the classic 1998 game. The release was timed for midnight, drawing eager gamers who had been queuing for hours or even days ahead of time. This enthusiasm underscores the enduring popularity of the original title, with one fan expressing nostalgia for the game they played during their childhood ¹².

Industry experts predict strong sales for the new version, estimating that it could sell between five to six million units in its first few weeks on the market ¹². To complement the game’s launch, Nintendo also released a special edition of the Nintendo Switch 2, featuring a design inspired by 'Ocarina of Time'. Best Buy hosted a midnight launch event on November 4, 2026, where each store received between 10 and 20 of these themed consoles ³.

However, not all Best Buy locations that advertised the midnight release received Switch 2 stock, leading to some disappointment among early birds ³. Despite this, the excitement surrounding the game’s release was palpable, with fans eagerly anticipating the chance to revisit Hyrule in stunning new detail.
