Future Unleashes New Single 'Ya Hit', Featuring Drake and Travis Scott
The Atlanta rapper teams up with two of his contemporaries for a fresh release.
In a move that has fans and critics alike buzzing, Atlanta-based rapper Future has dropped a new single titled 'Ya Hit', which reportedly sees him teaming up with fellow chart-toppers Drake and Travis Scott. The track also features contributions from Florida rapper Loe Shimmy, who leads the chorus, adding another layer of vocal diversity to the already star-studded lineup 12.
Rolling Stone notes that Future's latest work comes on the heels of some critical feedback for his previous album, which was described as feeling artistically exhausted and uninspired. However, with 'Ya Hit', Future seems to be aiming to reignite his creative spark and bring back the energy that made him a household name 1.
This isn't the first time Future has collaborated with Drake and Travis Scott. In fact, Future and Drake have a history of successful musical partnerships, including their shared album 'What A Time To Be Alive' in 2015 and recent hits like 'Way 2 Sexy' and 'Wait For U', both of which topped the charts 3. Meanwhile, Drake and Travis Scott last joined forces in 2023 on the track 'Meltdown', showcasing their ability to create compelling music together 23.
Adding to the excitement, Future recently performed at Camp Flog Gnaw in Los Angeles, where he hinted at more musical activities to come with a social media post reading 'Bringin the static back #INFINITY'. This suggests that 'Ya Hit' might just be the beginning of a new wave of releases from the versatile artist 2.
The production of 'Ya Hit' is credited to ATL Jacob and London Cyr, known for their distinctive sound that includes glitchy bass and gothic synth tones. These elements contribute to the track's unique atmosphere, setting it apart from other recent releases in the hip-hop scene 3.
Interestingly, Future reportedly referred to the artists on 'Ya Hit' as the Avengers, drawing a parallel between the supergroup of superheroes and the powerhouse lineup of rappers featured on the track 1.
While 'Ya Hit' is now available under Freebandz/Epic record labels, there is no word yet on whether it will be part of a larger project or if it stands alone as a standalone single 3.
