Advertiser terms & ad rules
1. How buying works
You prepay a wallet by card (processed by Stripe). Ads are charged per 1,000 counted views at the price shown when you send the ad for review. A view counts when at least half of the ad is on screen for at least one second; automated traffic, our staff and repeated counts are excluded. Your daily budget is a target: on a busy day delivery can run slightly over before the ad pauses, and we never charge more than one extra hour of views.
2. Review
Every ad is reviewed before it runs, and again whenever you change it. We may decline or remove any ad at our discretion, including after it has run. Automated screening helps us, but a person makes the decision.
3. Not allowed
- Political or issue ads, and ads for candidates, parties or ballot measures.
- Adult or sexual content; weapons and ammunition; tobacco, vaping and recreational drugs; gambling; alcohol.
- Unapproved health or medical claims; "miracle" products; payday loans; crypto, trading or get-rich-quick schemes.
- Anything deceptive: fake news-style headlines or quotes, impersonating a news outlet, a public figure or us, fake urgency or system warnings, or a landing page that doesn't match the ad or the advertiser.
- Counterfeit goods, hacking or spyware, hate, harassment, shocking content, or anything illegal.
4. Labelling and independence
Every ad is labelled Sponsored with your company name. Ads never run on stories about deaths, violence or disasters. Advertising has no influence on what we cover, how stories are verified or what they say.
5. Your responsibilities
You're responsible for your ads and landing pages, and for having the rights to everything in them. They must comply with law, including FTC rules on truthful advertising and endorsements.
6. Refunds
Unused wallet balance is refundable to the original card on request within 180 days of the top-up (the card networks' limit) — email [email protected]. Money already spent on delivered views isn't refundable, except where views were miscounted, which we credit back.
7. Other terms
Our general Terms of Use and Privacy Policy also apply. These terms are governed by the laws of Texas.
